Discover Our Curriculum

Our programme is split into 3 terms, each designed to build on the last

Discovering Photography

In our first term, children will learn the basics of using a camera and begin exploring the world through a new lens. From capturing the wonders of nature to spotting shapes and patterns all around them, they’ll start to see everyday life in exciting ways. With fun projects like photographing animals, toys, and colour experiments, the term ends with a showcase where students proudly present their favourite images in their own photo album.

Getting Creative

This term encourages children to think like artists and storytellers. They’ll experiment with angles, colours, and close-ups to add creativity and imagination to their photos. From capturing faces and feelings to building mini photo stories, children will learn how photography can express ideas and emotions. The term finishes with a big showcase where each child presents a creative project to share their progress.

They’ll learn about perspective, scale, light, and shadow to create striking images, as well as practise action shots and experiment with black-and-white photography. The term also includes fun secret challenges to stretch their creativity, before ending with an awards ceremony celebrating their achievements as budding photographers.
