Photo Explorers is a fun, hands-on photography club for Years 3 - 6 (ages 7–11) Each week, children explore the world through a camera, learning photography basics while boosting creativity, confidence and storytelling skills.

Building Photography Skills, Creativity & Visual Storytelling

Your child will receive:

✨ Weekly 1-hour photography workshops led by a trained Photo Explorers® instructor

📷 All cameras, photo paper and craft materials provided – no extra costs.

🎨 Creative arts & crafts activities to showcase their photos in fun ways in their albums.

🖼️ 1 printed photo each week they choose to stick in their photo album.

👩‍🏫 Guidance and support from two adults so every child is fully supported.

🌟 A special end-of-term showcase where children get to celebrate their work and be awarded a photography certificate & their best photo of the term they can take home and frame.

You’ve got questions,
we’ve got answers

  • Photo Explorers is designed for children in Years 1–3 (ages 5–8). The activities are fun, age-appropriate, and accessible for beginners.

  • No – all cameras and equipment are provided. We use easy-to-handle digital cameras that are perfect for children.

  • Each class is capped at 20 children to make sure everyone gets support and time with the camera. We have 2 room leaders in each session to guide the children.

  • Sessions are led by a trained photography teacher, supported by an assistant. All staff are DBS-checked and experienced in working with children.

  • Each club runs for around an hour after school, with some time at the end for sharing and reviewing the photos together.

  • Just themselves and a snack! We provide cameras, props, and any other materials needed for the sessions

  • The cost is £160 per 12-week term, which covers all equipment, teaching, and a final showcase or exhibition.

  • Photos may be displayed at school showcases or in end-of-term exhibitions. We only share images with parents’ permission and always follow safeguarding policies.

  • If spaces are available, children are welcome to join mid-term. The fee will be adjusted accordingly.

  • Parents can book through their school, or directly with Photo Explorers via our booking page.
