Join us for a fun-filled Inset Day workshop where young photographers will learn how to capture the perfect portrait! Using our mini studio setup, children will experiment with light and shadow, explore expressions and emotions, and create their own atmospheric and joyful portraits to take home.

The Portrait Play Studio!
Photo Explorers is coming to Rokesly Junior School on Monday 3rd November for a full-day photography workshop. Children will explore the world of photography through creative activities, hands-on learning, and experimenting with portrait photography in a safe, guided environment.
What Children Will Do
Learn the basics of portrait photography and lighting
Experiment with shadows and light in our mini portrait studio
Create atmospheric, moody portraits and fun, uplifting portraits
Take their own portraits of each other using professional techniques
Create their own portrait magnets & portrait flip books
Work in small groups with guidance from our professional photo instructors.
(All equipment provided — cameras, print paper, and creative materials.

Photo Explorers is designed for children in infant & junior school. The activities are fun, age-appropriate, and accessible for beginners.

No – all cameras and equipment are provided. We use easy-to-handle digital cameras that are perfect for children.

Each class is capped at 20 children to make sure everyone gets support and time with the camera. We have 2 room leaders in each session to guide the children.

Sessions are led by a trained photography teacher, supported by an assistant. All staff are DBS-checked and experienced in working with children.

Each workshop runs for normal school hours 9am - 3/3:30pm.

Just themselves and a snack! We provide cameras, props, and any other materials needed for the sessions

Due to different venue costs, art materials, camera and lighting equipment we use each workshop ranges from £70 - £85 for the day.

Not without parent permission, we sometimes take photos in the workshops of only children we have permission by parents.

If spaces are available, children are welcome to join mid-term. The fee will be adjusted accordingly.
